Training is required for work in construction sites and is offered through SWBOCES. Knowledge of federal regulations is required for on- site construction. Both 10-hour and 30-hour certifications in Occupational Safety and Health Administration are offered.  OSHA training is required to become a New York City On-Site Supervisor. Upon completion and testing students receive a nationally recognized OSHA Certification and card.

An advanced five-day training will lead to certification as a licensed Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS). COSS training is recognized by industry standards and teaches students to recognize hazards in the workplace.  Students learn how to handle an OSHA inspection and advise on safety standards.
